Scotland’s Tannahill Weavers Return To Old South

Old South Church Concert Series welcomes back Scotland’s Tannahill Weavers with their dynamic, traditional Celtic music to Farmington, Maine on Thursday, March 19th at 7pm.  Doors will open at 6:30pm.  General admission is $25; Seniors (65+) $20; students (12+) including college students (must present current school ID) $15.  Tickets can be purchased online at www.farmingtonucc.org/scotland'stannahillweavers or reserved by calling 207-491-5919.  Tickets will be available at the door as space allows. 

In the late 18th and early 19th century Scotland was in a turmoil of change. Highlanders were being driven from their lands and into the burgeoning Lowland factory systems. This brought two quite distinct cultures together, the mystic Celtic culture of the North and the old Anglo/Scots culture of the Lowlands.
