COVID Update:  Many of the following activities have been adjusted or postponed . If you are interested in learning more about any of the activities below, please contact the church office.

Book groups
Each fall and spring we engage our minds and souls through reading and vigorous discussion. Recent books our groups have read include Accidental Saints: Finding God in All the Wrong People by Nadia Bolz-Weber, Falling Upwards: A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life by Richard Rohr, Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion by Gregory Boyle, and An Altar in the World: A Geography of Faith by Barbara Brown Taylor. New book groups are advertised in Telstar, the worship bulletin, and the Calendar & News section of this website.
Dinner groups
Groups of 6-8 people gather and get to know each other a little better over a shared potluck meal in an intimate setting. Sign-ups happen each fall, but you may join mid-season.  Contact Phyllis for more information.
Community bereavement group
Those who are moving through grief or loss of any sort are invited to join this small group, which meets every other Wednesday at 2:30 pm in the Chapel. This diverse group, representing 6 different towns, share and support each other through the complex struggle of grief. Call Betsy Riley at 645-2884 to learn more.
Pastoral visitation team
Our lay visitation team assists the pastor by offering compassionate listening and caring companionship with members who are isolated, experiencing difficult circumstances, or in times of transition.  Please contact the church office if you are interested in participating in this ministry.
Widows & Widowers Lunch Bunch
Quarterly, those who have lost a spouse are invited to share a meal, stories, and companionship.
Women's retreat
Once a year, the women in our community indulge in 1-2 days of rest, re-connection, celebration, and spiritual renewal. The retreat is designed to be as structured or unstructured as each woman needs. Previous retreat themes have included Writing Our Spiritual Autobiographies, Prayer Practices, Sabbath, Make a Joyful Noise, and Rooted & Growing. Retreats typically take place in the fall. Please check Telstar or contact the church office for more information about the next scheduled event.
Prayer shawl knitters
These prayer shawls are a tangible expression of our faith, hope, and love. This ministry offers a shawl to anyone who may need a reminder of God's presence in their lives. They have given away over three hundred shawls since 2004. Please contact Myrna Vallette to get involved.
Just Friends
This circle of women meet monthly to share what is happening in their lives and with their spirits. They meet the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 2:30-4 pm in the Holman Parish House dining room. If you would like to join the group, call Betsy Riley at 645-2884.
Retirees' lunch
Calling all retirees!  Join us the first Monday of the month at noon in the Vestry to share a potluck lunch and great company.
